Ideal Complete set of teeth in a child is 20(temporary teeth) and 32 (permanent teeth) in adults. However, there may be\u00a0 dental anomalies in some like Hypodontia (the absence of ne or more teeth), Oligodontia (missing of six or more teeth and Anodontia (complete absence of teeth).\u00a0<\/p><p>Types of teeth:<\/p><ol><li>Central Incisors<\/li><li>lateral Incisors<\/li><li>canine<\/li><li>premolars (1<sup>st<\/sup>\u00a0and 2<sup>nd<\/sup>)<\/li><li>molar (1<sup>st<\/sup>,2<sup>nd<\/sup>,3<sup>rd<\/sup>)<\/li><\/ol><p>Tooth Structure:<\/p><p>What we normally see when we smile is called\u00a0<strong>Crown<\/strong>, the ones we don\u2019t see is called the\u00a0<strong>Root<\/strong>\u00a0which is inside the jaw .<\/p><p>The following are the Parts of a Tooth:<\/p><p><b>ENAMEL<\/b>\u00a0\u2013 outermost covering of the tooth, hardest mineralized tissue part of the human body.<\/p><p><b>DENTIN<\/b>\u00a0\u2013 inner part of the tooth next to the ENAMEL from the outside, where there are many very tiny tubes that lead directly to PULP.<\/p><p><b>PULP\u00a0<\/b>\u00a0&#8211; soft tissue found in the innermost part of the tooth, it has blood vessels and nerves, provides nutrition and sensitivity to the tooth<\/p><p><b>CEMENTUM<\/b>\u00a0&#8211;\u00a0 hard tissue that covers the root of the tooth<\/p><p><b>PERIODONTAL LIGAMENTS<\/b>\u00a0\u2013 these are collagen fibers and attach the teeth to the bone and gingival tissues<\/p><p><b>GUMS<\/b>\u00a0\u2013 usually pinkish soft tissue that surrounds the teeth<\/p><p><strong>(Always seek professional help\u00a0 )<\/strong><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Tooth There are two sets of teeth, ones anchored in the upper jaw (maxilla) and the ones anchored in the lower jaw (mandible).
